Birmingham boss Steve Bruce admits he has endured a 'horrible week' and is looking to put the Nicky Butt situation behind him.
Butt stormed away from the club after being left out of the team to face West Ham on Monday and Bruce's mood was not lifted by the disappointing result at Upton Park.
Former England international Butt has since apologised for his actions and Bruce is now looking to get the club back on track.
"It has been a horrible week," Bruce told Sky Sports News." The annoying thing was the result on Monday night.
"You have to deal with it, it is unfortunate and is what the job entails.
"It was all dealt with the following day, he apologised. It is out of character for somebody like him and as far as I am concerned it is closed.
"We have, as a club, got a more pressing matter which is winning on Saturday (sic - Sunday) to get into the quarter final of the FA Cup and of course we have three huge Premier League games, 13 really, and the last thing we want is a cloud hanging over the place.
"It is dealt with, Nicky has apologised. He's apologised to me, the staff and more importantly to the fans and the players.
"As far as I'm concerned it is done with, he is in the squad for Saturday and he will have a role to play that's for sure.
"It is out of character and has never happened before and I don't think will happen again. He has apologised and it takes a big man to apologise. He has done that now so let's get on with it.
"We have a big job to do and it is important everybody is pulling in the right direction to get out of the mess we are in at the moment."
What a d*ck
